Lamoni, IA-The women's basketball was back in action Saturday afternoon in their final tune-up before Christmas break. The Jackets took on the Central Methodist Eagles (5-6) still in search of their first conference win. Coming off of their loss to emerging conference power Avila on Thursday evening in a game in which the Jackets gave the Eagles 40 minutes of fight, Graceland lost 74-65 to Central Methodist. Graceland trailed by 9 at halftime (37-28) and ended up losing by that margin playing all square with the Eagles in the second half.
Graceland was led by senior forward Katie Lemburg (Modesto, CA) who had a career night with her 33 point 11 rebound double-double performance. Lemburg was the only Jacket in double figures on the evening. Alex Pinney (Schulenburg, TX) did add 8 points and Channel Rainey had a solid game scoring 6 and dishing out 4 assists.
The Jackets now stand at 2-7 overall and 0-4 in the HAAC. Graceland will take some time off for Christmas break before returning to action in January. The Jackets next game will come on January 8th as they'll head to Olathe, Kansas for a 5:30 pm matchup with the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers.
