Olathe, KS-The men's soccer team was well aware of the implications that Saturday's soccer game had. Graceland was in Olathe, KS for a matchup with rival MidAmerica Nazarene and first place in the HAAC was on the line. It however, didn't got Graceland's way as they had a frustrating day losing 1-0 to the MidAmerica Pioneers. The Jackets played strong defense all afternoon but were unable to find the back of the net during the contest. This brings Graceland's overall record to 9-4-2 and 4-1-2 in the Heart of America Conference.
Graceland faced a quality team today as MidAmerica has won their last 7 games and are currently rated third in the HAAC. Lucas Rodriguez (MidAmerica) scored the Pioneers only goal in the first half of the game. Graceland outshot MidAmerica 18-15 but could not find the net to score a goal. Goalie Carlos Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia) had a total of eight saves on the day.
The Men's Soccer team is back in action this Tuesday against Grandview College. The game begins at 7:00pm and takes place here at "The Razz". Stay in tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage on the Graceland University men's soccer team and all Jacket athletics.
