Baldwin City, KS-The women's volleyball team was on the road Thursday night for their second conference game in three days. After falling in a tough battle Tuesday night to Benedictine in a match they led 2-0, Graceland fell in 5 again Thursday to Baker. The Jackets lost 25-27, 25-17, 20-25, 25-21 and 11-15. The loss was the second straight for the Jackets after they had previously won 4 of their last 5.
"Tonight was another testimony to the strength of this conference," stated Coach McDole following the loss. "We honestly played close to our best against a very good Baker team. Two or three things go our way and the outcome is different. Any GU fan would be proud of the team's effort tonight," concluded McDole.
The Jackets are 18-10 overall and 5-3 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. The Jackets will now close the season out at home next week as they'll host conference home games on both Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday the Jackets will face Culver Stockton College at 7:30 pm in the Closson Center.
