Lamoni, IA-The Graceland women's volleyball team had a tough first match in the opener of today's and tomorrow's home VB tourney. Graceland drew #9 ranked Columbia College to begin the day and ended falling to them 3-0 giving the Jackets only their second loss of the young season. Graceland lost 20-25, 17-25 and 16-25 running their overall record to 6-2.
In the second match of the day the Jackets were set to face Jamestown College of Jamestown, North Dakota. Down middle hitter Maranda Miller (Holden, MO) and outside hitter Molly Cornelison (New Virginia, IA) Graceland was unable to stop Jamestown College falling in four. The Jackets lost 25-21, 16-25, 19-25 & 17-25. The Jackets now stand at 6-3 overall and 2-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.
Graceland is back in action tomorrow at the Pizza Shack - GU Invite where they'll be looking to get back on track. The Jackets will play Michigan Dearborn at 9:00 am. Tomorrow's game will be broadcast through Stretch Internet on the Graceland athletics website.
