July 24, 2008Lamoni, IA-The Graceland Women Yellowjackets soccer team is happy to announce the signing of Karina Vega. Vega comes from Paraguay, and has played for the full senior Paraguayan National Team. When asked about Karina, Coach Wagenaar said that Karina would bring the abundance of expertise and experience that only a national team player could bring.
Wagenaar also said, "We pride ourselves on being a fit and organized team and have done fairly well in the past few years," stated Coach Wagenaar. "I think Karina will bring a new look to the team with a South American flair. There is a zest for soccer that comes with players from nations that regard soccer as one of life's essentials. I am very excited about the upcoming season, and looking forward to seeing how our very different players will jell as a team," finished Coach Wagenaar.
