Lamoni, IA-Head men's basketball coach Jeff Hamilton has announced the signing of two Kansas City area basketball stars. 5'11" combo guard Jewel Carter Jr. of Kansas City, KS and 6'7" power forward Michael Johnson also of Kansas City, Kansas have announced their intentions to play for the Jackets in the fall.
Both players attended F.L. Schlagle High School but parted ways on the juco circuit as Carter attended Highland Community College and Johnson attended Coffeyville Community College. They'll be reunited on a Jacket program that has really hit the recruiting trail hard.
"Jewel is an athletic combo guard who will be an immediate impact on next years team," said Hamilton about Carter. "Mike is a solid big man from a quality junior college who comes from great coaching lineage. Mike will also be an immediate impact on the 08-09 Jackets. Both players come from a tradition rich Kansas City, Kansas and played on the same high school squad at F. L. Schlagel," concluded Hamilton.
The Graceland community is excited to have these two young men as Jackets and we look forward to exciting careers from both of them.
