"I met Greg earlier in the spring," stated Head Coach Kevin Brunner. "Greg called me earlier this spring to tell me about his excellent start to his senior year. He tied for first in his first tournament and won the second tournament he played in. He has the ability to play well and will only get better as he improves his mental focus on the course," Brunner said about the Bolte signing.
Greg also played basketball in high school and was a member of the National Honor Society. His parents are Kent Bolte and Chuck and Ilona Nelson. Bolte has one sister, Ashley.
Carl Martin is the son of Randy and Sue Martin and has two siblings, Michelle and Robin. Carl was a varsity letter winner and on the high school honor roll.
"I met Ryan last fall. I watched him hit golf balls on a cool and rainy day," said Coach Brunner. "He has come a long way over the past two years and will make an excellent addition to the team. He is a very intelligent player and has been improving his mindset for the game which will help him in collegiate golf. He has a good fundamental swing," concluded Brunner.
Trent Ranney is a local product from Lamoni and brings a beautiful swing and savy game to next years team. Trent is brother to Kyla and Cooper Ranney and the son of Dave and Sandy Ranney. Trent is well rounded both on and off the course as he graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA. Ranney also excelled in basketball at Lamoni High School where he was named all-conference three times and named to the KAAN radio all-star team his senior campaign.
"It will be a privilege to have Trent at Graceland," stated Coach Brunner about the signing. "I know he has not peaked in his golf game yet and it will be exciting to watch his continued development. Trent is an excellent golfer and continues to impress me with his smooth swing and long distance. He will be fun to watch over the next four years. His parents have always been a strong support to the golf team and it is great to have the son of PGA Professional on the team," Brunner finished with.
The Graceland community is excited about the signing of these three fine young men and looks forward to seeing them on campus in the fall.
