Lamoni, IA-As the Jacket volleyball season nears, they continue to add impressive recruits to their 2008 roster. The latest is Ariel Strickler of Tallon, Colorado (Summit High School). Ariel's parents are Russ and JoGina and she has one brother Ridge. Strickler, a 5'6" outside hitter, will be multi-faceted for the Jackets upon arrival to the program. In high school Ariel was honored as a 3 year varsity letter winner, varsity captain her senior year, second team all-conference in 2006 and first team all-conference in 2007.
"Ariel is the kind of player who is going to make her presence known," stated Coach McDole. "She brings intensity to the court; you can see it in every touch. She breathes volleyball. Her passion has prompted hours and hours of travel time to get from her town into Denver and beyond for a quality club experience. Her platform play is excellent. She could play libero or defensive specialist comfortably. Strickler is 5'6" and plays tall. She is a consistent outside hitter and clutch jump server who inspires confidence in her team mates. Ariel brings nicely developed skills and a lot of intangibles all of which bode well for Graceland Volleyball. We are excited for her arrival," concluded McDole.
The Jacket athletic family is eagerly anticipating having Ariel on campus.
