Mobile, AL
-The men's tennis teams historical run into the NAIA National Quarter-Finals came to a conclusion on Wednesday afternoon.  After junior Brett Waite (St. Louis, MO) and Carlos Cordova (Santa Cruz Bolivia) won their doubles match the Jackets weren't able to win the other two doubles matches and would drop the first two singles matches to national power Fresno Pacific (CA) losing the overall match 5-1.

"The team did an excellent job both during the regular season and during the national tournament," stated Coacch Hampton from Mobile.  "We ended with an all-time best 20-2 overall record and with an all-time best finish in the national tournament so I couldn't be any happier with the direction this team is headed.  Today's match versus Fresno Pacific was a difficult one.  They were a better team than us and showed it.  We might have been able to beat them on a given day, but not this one," Hampton continued.  "Losing senior Mario Paz will be a tough hole to replace but the core of this team is young and will return for next season," finished Hampton.

Graceland will be heading back from Mobile this Friday afternoon after their excellent season.  Stay in tuned to the Jacket athletics website for upcoming info on the tennis teams off-season recruiting.  Congrats to the entire Jacket team on a very memorable season!
