Jacket Tennis Gets Final Tune-Up Before Nationals

Lamoni, IA-The Jacket men's tennis team was finally able to get their match with Northwest Missouri State in on Monday. It would prove to be an excellent tune-up before the Jackets head off to the NAIA National Tennis Tournament May 12-14.

Facing the NCAA Division II Bearcats, the Jackets trailed 4-0 following the doubles portion of the match.  The Jackets however, would come storming back and sweep the singles 5-0 giving them a terrific 5-4 victory. 

"I'm very proud of our kids resolve today and their will to win," Coach Hampton said following Monday's match. "This is a spectacular win for us heading into the NAIA National Tournament and we'll look to have it catapult us into the weekend," Hampton concluded.

The Jackets head to Mobile, Alabama on Saturday for the NAIA National Tennis Tournament which is slated to be begin on Monday May, 12.  Stay tuned to the Jacket website for complete coverage on Graceland's push for a National Championship.
