Meghan Dunagan

This season will be Meghan Dunagan's first time on Graceland's coaching staff.

Dunagan started her Graceland Soccer career in 2004 as a player.  She played the center midfield position her freshman year under the guidance of head coach Kevin Sherry.   That season the Graceland's women's soccer team was HAC conference champions and was one of the final four competitors in the NAIA national tournament held in Santa Barbra, CA.

Her sophomore year Dunagan moved into the center defender position under the guidance of head coach Ivan Joseph.  The lady Yellow Jackets were once again HAC Conference Champions in the 2005 season. They also made it as far as the final 8 teams at the national tournament held in Olathe, KS.  At the national tournament, Dunagan received the Champion of Character award for Graceland University.

Dunagan continued to play center defense for the lady yellow jackets for the 2006-2007 seasons under head coach Fred Wagenaar.  Both seasons were successful and landed the team 2 more HAC Conference championships.  Dunagan received an All Conference honorable mention award her junior season, and was a team captain her senior year.

Meghan started playing soccer at the age of 7 on a recreation team that her mother, Nancy Dunagan, coached.   In middle school she played volleyball and soccer, and was MVP on both teams.   In high school she gave up volleyball to pursue a more competitive soccer career.   Dunagan was a 4 year starter on Prospect High School's Varsity soccer team and won many honors including MVP, First Team All League (2 years) Second Team All League, and All Mercury Team honorable mention.  Dunagan tore her ACL during the last game of her senior season, and had replacement surgery to enable her to come and play for Graceland.

Dunagan was born and raised in San Jose, CA.  Dunagan is a fifth year senior at Graceland University, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.  She will be doing her student teaching in New Zealand and Kansas in the spring and hopes to return home to teach in California after graduation.   Meghan is the daughter of Stephen and Nancy Dunagan and younger sister of Christian Dunagan.
