April 13, 2008 The Graceland football team finished up their spring season on Sunday afternoon with their annual spring football game. Dawning only helmets and shoulder pads and working on plays and technique, the spring game was a great benefit for the team.
"Spring practice is an excellent opportunity for our team to further in the developing of their skills, and for the coaches to evaluate where we are currently at both skill and personal wise," Coach Welch said following Sunday's game. "Is was great to see some of the youngs kids step up and play well, but it was also an eye opener for our staff to see what issues we still have, and things we need to continue addressing with our recruiting," Coach Welch concluded.
The Jackets open up play this season on September 6th as they'll head to Fayette, MO to face Central Methodist and their new Head Coach, Alan Dykens.
