April 9, 2008 The Graceland women's tennis team, like all of the spring sports, has battled the harsh winter and cold spring their entire season. Wednesday however, was a beautiful day for the Jackets in more ways then one. Graceland clinched the out-right conference championship by beating Benedictine 6-3 locking up the #1 seed in the HAAC tournament along the way. Graceland is still undefeated in conference play and has now rattled off eight straight wins.
"I'm so happy with the way these ladies have come together and really become a team," said Coach Hampton following the match. "They've really put it all together lately and we'll continue to push towards post-season play," Coach Hampton concluded.
Graceland next hosts NCAA Division II opponent Missouri Western next Tuesday in Lamoni.
