The Jackets, whose play has vastly improved in the last few weeks, took all four games in this weekends four game series winning game one 3-2 and game two 8-7 in Atchison on Saturday, and winning 8-1 in game one and 12-3 in game two on Sunday in Lamoni. What crippled Graceland early in the season has of late become their greatest asset. The Jackets started the season out 1-9 in one run games but have now won four straight. The turn around in one run games has been a major factor in Graceland turning their season around.

In game one, down 2-1 in the sixth inning, junior left fielder Sean Smith (St. Mary's, IA) hit a two-run blast to give the Jackets a 3-2 win. It was Smith's seventh homer on the season
In game two, the Jackets jumped out to an early 4-2 lead scoring twice in the first and then once in both the second and third frames. The Ravens however put up a crooked number in the bottom of third scoring three times giving them a 5-4 lead going into the fourth. Still, Graceland would come roaring back. Junior outfielder Brian Contrereras (San Lorenzo, PR) lead the fifth inning off with a solo shot followed by three Graceland doubles in the inning plating two more runs. The Jackets would go on to win the game 8-7.
Sunday in Lamoni, the Jackets got off to a big start as they got a strong performance from their starting pitching. The Jackets won game one 8-1.
Game two didn't stress the Jackets out too much either as they rolled to a 12-3 victory cruising to a four game sweep of the Ravens.
The Jackets go out of conference Tuesday as they'll host Iowa Wesleyan in Lamoni. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
