Kansas City, MO- The women's softball team was in Kansas City Saturday and Sunday for the Avila Tournament.  The softball team was expecting to play six games over the two game span and they would have to do it with a slim pitching staff who has been depleted of late due to injuries.  Still, the Jackets had a positive weekend.

Graceland played three games on Saturday facing Hanniba-LaGrange College, Haskell Indian Nations University, and Ottawa University.  Graceland would take the first two games winning 5-4 and 5-1 respectively, but dropped the night cap against Ottawa 7-6.  Sunday the Jackets had to head right back to KC where they opened the day up with a win against Bethany College 9-6.  Graceland then lost to a very good Rogers State University team 8-0 before finishing the weekend off with a win for the second time against Bethany College, 14-9.

Graceland finished the weekend 4-2 and are now scheduled to host two home games this week playing Culver Stockton in Lamoni on Thursday, and William Jewell on Saturday.
