Lamoni, IA-Following in a family tradition, Melcher Dallas, IA native and future Yellowjacket Hayli Crozier has signed to play softball for the Jackets. Crozier comes from the softball rich tradition at Melcher Dallas where her father Jim, also a Graceland alum, has built a southern Iowa perennial power. Four of Hayli's uncle's and her father all attended Graceland as well as her sister Jaymi who is a talented freshman on the Jacket squad this year.
Hayli has been a star player on her high school team since she began playing and the list of accolades she has received in high school is extensive. She has been named 1st team All-Conference twice, to the All-District team once and last year was named honorable-mention All-State. On top of being a standout player on the diamond, Hayli is an excellent student in the classroom ranking in the top five.
"Hayli brings incredible speed, athleticism and a much needed left-handed bat to the team next year," Head Coach Bill Dudek said. "I'm excited to get her on the field playing for us. She will really make an immediate impact with the team both on and off the field," Dudek concluded.
Expect to say Hayli on campus early next fall preparing for the 2009 softball season where she'll bring much excitement to the team.
