Lamoni, IA-Head Coach Stew McDole and the Volleyball team have been hitting the recruiting trail hard this spring. The women's volleyball teams latest signing is outside hitter Caitlin Tucker from Monmouth, IL. Caitlin, the daughter of John and Jane Tucker, is a dominating volleyball player who brings athleticism, intelligence and poise to the court. The list of accolades that Tucker has received in high school is long. Caitlin was named First Team All-Conference as well as listed as the Top 100 Volleyball players in the state of Illinois to name a few. Caitlin will not only be coming to Graceland as an excellent volleyball player, she will be coming as a top notch student as well. Tucker was named to the states all academic team as well as being named a scholar athlete.
"Until recently Caiti's knowledge of our school and program was based entirely in people," Coach McDole said about the signing. "Her high school coach, Donn Damos and his two playing daughters have GU camps in their background. She has known Graceland through Mike Lester (All-American GU Volleyball - Head Coach St. Mary's, MN) who did camps at her school. Finally she met two of our student/athletes at a UNI camp last summer. It was enough. Caiti is a 5'10" power hitter who brings All-Conference credentials and a driven passion for this game to her future Yellowjacket team. She has physical and personal tools that I expect to endear her to teammates and fans alike," McDole concluded.
Expect Tucker to report in August with the rest of the Volleyball team when we'll look forward to seeing her success on and off the court.
