On Monday March 10, the Graceland Women's Basketball in collaboration with American State Bank invited Clarke Lady Indians 7th grade AAU basketball team.  Graceland invited them to participate in various activities with the women's team and then treated them to pizza afterwards.  The Lady Indians stand at 47-12 in AAU play currently and placed 3rd in the 12 and under State AAU Championships.

"The hospitality provided by Coach Butler, the Lady Jackets basketball team, and Graceland University was second to none," stated the Indians AAU Coach Kevin Klemesrud.  "Coach Butler spent the time teaching our girls about college basketball and the accountability each of the girls has individually to the team to continue excellence in the classroom and on the court.  I was so impressed that all of the girls from the Graceland team attended the event and took the time to be an excellent example for my 7th grade team. It is this type of mentoring that can make a difference in a young girls mind about her future.  What a great example these young women provided to the Clarke 7th grade girls.  They want to come back next year, Coach Klemesrud concluded."

Monday nights events were a great experience for everybody and on behalf of Coach Butler and the Women's Basketball team they would like to extend a big thanks for visiting the Graceland campus and wish them luck the rest of the season.
