February 21, 2008 | Box Score The women's basketball team was in Olathe, KS on Thursday evening for their final game of the season. After a rough stretch of games following some key injuries to the team, the Jackets continued their struggles late in the season losing to MidAmerica Nazarene 85-56. Graceland closes out the season with an overall record of 14-15 and a conference record of 7-13.
"It was tough down the stretch battling the injuries we had too," Coach Butler stated following the game. "That being said, I don't like making excuses and we had positioned ourselves well for a playoff spot. It just didn't happen. I am very proud of these girls however. They really fought hard through the end of the season giving us the third best season in Graceland history. Now, we'll get right back on the recruiting trail and start preparing for next year," Butler concluded with.
The Jackets had three scorers in double figures tonight as seniors Kristin Osborn and Paris Williams had 13 and 12 respectively and junior post Katie Lemburg also poured in 12. Stay in tuned to the women's basketball website for the announcement of Jacket signings and all the off season happenings.
