The Jackets suffered a tough loss Thursday night at the hands of William Jewell University by a score of 76-55. The defeat brings Graceland's overall record to 9-18 and puts them at 5-12 in the conference. Mike Malat led the Jackets again in scoring with 13 points. Andrew Williams had a nice game, putting in 10 points and grabbing 6 rebounds.
The game was hard fought and the Jackets hung tough for most of the first half. Turnovers and swarming defensive pressure by the Cardinals ended up being Graceland's achilles heel. " We didn't play with the focus we need to be a playoff team," said Coach Quinn following the game. "I have a feeling we will bounce back," he went on to comment.
Graceland's next game is a big one at Benedictine College. The Jackets will look to rebound from this loss and bring home a victory. Tip time is set for 4 pm.
