The game was close from start to finish as both teams competed extremely hard. At halftime Baker clung to a one point lead. The Jackets total team effort contributed to a nice run in the second half. Mike Malat sealed the victory with a three-pointer with under 10 seconds left in the game. "Great effort by both teams. Baker and us are both fighting for a playoff spot. We knew this was going to be a battle and it lived up to our expectations," said Coach Quinn after the contest. "The key to tonight was our turnovers. We only turned the ball over 5 times tonight, which is a season low. That offset our poor shooting night and some of our poor shot selection and allowed us to come away with the win. Hopefully a game like this can be a turning point in the season as earlier in the game we may have folded in a game like this. The guys are really starting to gain the confidence and hopefully a win like this will catapult us into a strong finish and a playoff birth," coach Quinn concluded.
Graceland's next matchup comes on Saturday, February 9 against HAAC leader Evangel University. Tip time is set for 4 p.m and should prove to be an exciting confernce contest.
