The Lady Jackets came up just short Thursday night when they were defeated 75-72 by Baker University at the Closson Center.  With the loss Graceland drops to 14-9 overall and 7-7 in conference play.  Senior Kristin Osborn was lights out, shooting 4-7 from the 3-point line and scoring 18 points.  Ieshia Randall had a big game as well, contributing 15 points of her own.

It was a hard fought matchup throughout as both teams were very evenly matched.  By the end of the first half the score was tied 39-39.  Although the Jackets played with great intensity, they were unable to stop a late push by Baker. "We lost a tough one tonight," said Coach Butler following the game.  "I thought we played hard against a team that we felt we matched up with pretty well.  We just didn't make enough plays at the end of the game to close it out.  We're going to focus on our next opponent and learn from this close contest," he concluded.

The next game for the Jackets is on Saturday, February 9 against Evangel University in Springfield, MO.  Tip time is set for 2 p.m as the Jackets look to rebound in conference play.
