The Jackets were in Marshall, MO Saturday afternoon trying to improve on their post season hopes.  Facing the Missouri Valley Vikings, a team that had already beaten the Jackets once this season in Lamoni, Graceland was looking to avenge that loss.  Unfortunately they would blow two separate leads of 13 points and a halftime lead falling 84-77.  The Jackets leading scorer freshman sensation Mike Malat had another solid game in the losing effort.  Malat poured in 16 points had 7 boards and 9 assists.  Two others scored in double digits as senior Tyson Meierotto had 16 points and 7 boards and Simon Morefield added 11.

"We blew two big leads this afternoon and played very tentative in the second half," said Coach Quinn following the contest.  "We had a nice halftime lead and were playing with great confidence.  Then all of a sudden, in the second half we seemed to lose our intensity.  We played too passive today, and it cost us," Quinn concluded.

The Jackets will have a few days to regroup before they travel to Fayette, MO to face the Central Methodist Eagles on Thursday, January 31st at 7:30pm.   Graceland fell to the Eagles 70-67 back on December 6th.  The Jackets now stand at 6-15 overall and 3-9 in HAAC play.
