The Lady Jackets came up short Saturday losing a tight one 69-61 to the Missouri Valley Vikings at the Closson Center. With the loss the Jackets drop to 6-6 in conference play and 12-8 overall. Katie Lemburg led the way for the Jackets with 16 points and 4 rebounds. Ieshia Randall contributed 13 points as well.
Graceland fought hard in what was a rough and tumble game. They held a two point lead at halftime but fell to a second half surge by the Vikings. "This was a tough loss for us," said Coach Butler after the game. "We fought hard but had a bad shooting day. Sometimes you have to play through rough spots and we just came up short today," he concluded.
The Jackets next contest is Thursday, January 31 at Fayette, MO to take on the Central Methodist Eagles. It should prove to be a good matchup for Graceland as they look to get back on track in the conference.
