Steve Gilbert
Coaching Experience
This will be Steve’s first season coaching for the Jackets. He’ll enter the season as the Defensive Line Coach. Gilbert was the assistant football coach for Central Decatur Schools for six years. In 1999-2000, he was the Head Football Coach at Lamoni Community High School. From 1996 to 1999, Steve was the Assistant Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach at Murray Community High School.
Playing Experience
Coach Gilbert played outside linebacker for Utah State University in 1989 and then for Iowa State University in 1990. During high school Gilbert attended Clarke Community High School where he was All-State two years.
Education
Coach Gilbert graduated from Simpson College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.
Personal
Steve lives in Leon, IA and has three sons, Dalton, Peyton, and Keeton. In his spare time, Gilbert enjoys fishing, boating and camping.
