January 10, 2008 | Box ScoreThere has been much anticipation for tonight's women's basketball game vs. William Jewell College. Willam Jewell was ranked in the top 25 as of the last NAIA poll. Before tonight the Yellowjackets have been showing a mixture of great offense and defense which has placed them in the top half of the conference, something they have been working hard towards the last couple of seasons. Graceland knew the game could be just what the team needed to give them a boost of momentum heading into the last half of this season.
After the night was over Graceland played hard but fell short. The Cardinals held the Yellowjackets to only 55 points, final score Jewell 70, Graceland 55. After the game Coach Opie Butler said, "It is tough to play on the road in the Heart of America, the kids didn't give up playing hard the entire night."
The Yellowjackets play at home this Saturday hosting Benedictine College, game time set for 2:00pm.
