The Graceland Yellowjackets fell at home to the Evangel Crusaders on Saturday, January 5th 2008. Although they fought hard for forty minutes, the Jackets came up short 78-62. That brings their overall record to 3-11 and 0-5 in HAAC play. Freshman Mike Malat led the Jackets with 15 points and 4 rebounds followed by Sophomore Aundrae Williams who had 11 points and 4 boards.

The Jackets got off to a slow start in the first half, trailing by as many as 24 points. They battled back in the second half and showed great hustle and intensity. “The last few weeks we’ve been playing 30 minutes of good basketball. We seem to have an 8-10 minute lull that hurts us. We fought well in the second half, our guys never quit,” said Coach Ted Quinn following the game.

The Jackets next game will be Monday, January 7 at Avila University. Their next home game is on Saturday, January 12 against Benedictine at 4:00 p.m. With plenty of conference play left, the Jackets have a chance to catch up in the standings. Come and support your Jackets!
