Article Body: Lamoni, IA- Women’s soccer was back in action on Tuesday night as they faced off with the Avila Eagles for their third conference tilt in six days. Graceland would have no trouble putting away Avila early. Freshman forward Chelsea Phillips had a huge night. Phillips scored three times in the first twenty minutes of the game to give Graceland a comfortable 3-0 lead. The Jackets would take that lead into the locker room at the intermission. The big halftime lead allowed Head Coach Fred Wagennar the luxury of playing his entire bench early and often in the second half to get the starters a rest after such a long week of play. The Jackets would add another goal in the second half by Bethany Garcher to complete the scoring at 4-0. All in all it was a big night offensively for the Jackets, and goalie Alex Tomascin recorded her fifth shutout of the season. Graceland now gets a few days off before playing under the lights at “The Razz” again Saturday night for a conference matchup with Lindenwood beginning at 5:00 this Saturday, October 6th.
