Lamoni, IA- On Friday morning, after winning the 2007 Region V Championship in thrilling fashion the night before, the Graceland men’s soccer team now knows who they’ll be facing in their opening round game. The Jackets have drawn the eleventh seed overall and will be facing Concordia (California) Friday November 16th, at 11:00 am in Olathe, Kansas. The tournament will be held at the College Boulevard Activity Center. The Concordia Eagles spent six weeks during the 2007 season ranked number one overall and showcase a very strong defense that only allowed 14 goals on the entire season. Offensively they are led by all-american Jeff Clark who led the Eagles in scoring for the third straight season with 13 goals and 11 assists. The Jackets also sport a very stingy defense. Graceland only allowed 14 goals on the entire season and are led by sophomore goalie Carlos Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia) sophomore defender Ruben Ruelas (Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico) and sophomore forward Brian Loving (St. Joseph, MO). Ortiz, who was named week seven NAIA national player of the week, recorded 5 shutouts on the season and had an incredible 83 saves. Offensively the Jackets are led by junior midfielder Kevin Souter (Portsoy, Scotland.) Souter led the Jackets in scoring with 8 goals on the season to go along with 11 assists. Every game at this year's tournament can be viewed online at the College Boulevard Activity Center on a pay-per-view basis. JumpTVSports will be providing a simulcast of every match with two packages available for viewers. Individual matches can be viewed for $9.95 while an all-tournament pass can be purchased for $24.95.
