All Region Honors Handed Out

Lamoni, IA-The 2007 All-Region team has been announced for men's soccer and three Jackets players have been honored. Sophomore goalie Carlos Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia) sophomore defender Ruben Ruelas (Matamoros, Mexico) and the Region V player of the year is Kevin Souter (Portsoy, Scotland.) Ortiz had 83 saves on the and only allowed 11 goals on the season. Ruelas is the foundation of Graceland's dominating defense and his leadership skills are an integral part to Graceland's success. Souter, the Region V player of the year, anchored the Jacket attack. Souter had 8 goals on the season to go along with 11 assists.

Graceland head Coach Ivan Joseph was named Region V coach of the year as well. Coach Joseph lead the Jackets to a 18-1-2 record over all and has the defending national champs back in the NAIA national tournament for the third consecutive year.
