Jackets Open Season With Victory

Lamoni, IA-The women’s basketball team opened their season Friday night in game two of the American State Bank Tourney. The Jackets came away with a convincing 78-57 win over the Stars of Stephens College.

“We’re just glad to get the season under way and get that first game over,” Coach Butler said following the contest. “We’ve got a lot to work out, but that’s to be expected at this point in the season. It’s great to make the championship of the tourney, and we’ll look to finish it off tomorrow. Ashford is a good team though, it won’t be easy,” Butler concluded with.
Graceland faces Ashford University tomorrow in the championship game at 6:00. Ashford defeated Bethel College 63-61 in the opening game.
