November 3, 2007 | Box ScoreLamoni, IA-The Lady Jackets were back in action Saturday night in the championship game of the American State Bank Tournament. Graceland was set to face Ashford University which looked to be a pretty good matchup on paper. The Jackets up tempo style of offense and their tenacious defense proved to be too much for Ashford. Graceland would roll to an easy 91-62 victory running their record to 2-0 on the season. “Tonight was better than last night, but that’s what you hope for; improvement,” Coach Butler said following the tournament. “We’ve got some good teams on our pre-season schedule and Ashford was definitely one of them. We beat a very good team tonight. We still however have a lot to work on, but we aren’t going to have much time to do that right now as we head to Denver (Colorado) tomorrow,” Butler concluded with. Graceland will hit the road tomorrow as they’ll head to Denver, CO for a matchup Monday at 5:00 against Johnson & Wales University.
