Matt Shelton began his first year as Director of Sports Information at Graceland University in August of 2007. Matt came via Lamoni High School where he spent the last two years as a Special Education Instructor and the Director of Athletics.
Experience: As a student at Graceland, Matt spent five years as the PA announcer for Graceland athletics, and also helped with statistics for the various sports programs. Following graduation from Graceland in 2001, he spent six years with the Lamoni High School men’s basketball program, four as the Head Coach. After teaching three years in Special Education at Clarke Community Schools in Osceola, IA, Matt got a job at Lamoni Community Schools as a Secondary Special Education instructor, and the Athletics Director.
Education: Shelton earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Secondary Education. In 2005 Matt returned to Graceland and earned his Endorsement in Secondary Special Education.
Personal: Matt Shelton and his wife Amber along with their two children Hailey (4) and Trevor (1) reside in Lamoni and are both originally from Lamoni.
