Playing in their final game before their near-month long hiatus, Graceland really wanted to get a win heading into Christmas break. The Lady Jackets would do just that defeating Johnson & Wales for the second time this season 84-41.

Graceland came out a little sluggish in the first half struggling with their shooting. The Jackets still however managed to take a 32-23 lead into intermission. The second half treated the Lady Jackets much better. Graceland put up 52 points in the second half and held Johnson & Wales to 18 as they pulled away for the win.

The Jackets had five girls in double figures and were lead by senior guard Kristin Osborn who poured in 19. Ieshia Randall had 16, Ashley Atwood and Paris Williams both had 13 and Keturah Spotwood added 12 to go along with 9 boards. “We didn’t play our best basketball of the year in the first half,” Coach Butler said following the game.

“We did a nice job though of adjusting at halftime and coming out strong in the second half. 8-3 in the first half of the season is definitely a positive step. We head into the heart of conference play after Christmas and that’ll be a real test for the team,” Butler concluded with.

To go along with an 8-3 overall record, the Jackets are 2-1 in conference play. They now have nearly a month off before heading to Baldwin City, Kansas to face Baker on January 3rd.
