Graceland University Homecoming
October 11, 2008
Alumni Board President Michael Lewis welcomed everyone to the Homecoming Alumni Forum. Michael thanked Mike Compton and the Graceland University Jazz Band for their music.
Michael Lewis asked the current Alumni Board to stand and introduce themselves. Members present were: Sinda Adams, Katie Arnold-Clow, Howard Booth, Kirby Brooner, Karla Fennick, Kathryn Lysinger, Barb Mesle, Cherry Newcom, Scott Ourth, Becky Shalley and Joe Shelton. Michael asked for the candidates running for re-election to stand, which were Karla Fennick, Kathryn Lysinger, Howard Booth and Sinda Adams. Michael Morain was not present but is running for election.
Graceland University President, John Sellars welcomed everyone to Homecoming and updated everyone on things happening at Graceland. Graceland University Board of Trustees Chair, Ken McClain shared some remarks and thanked John Sellars for his leadership he has given to Graceland.
Nancy Wallace presented the Special Recognition Award to Bob Kelly of Facilities Services of Graceland University. Nancy thanked Bob for all the things he does behind the scenes to make Graceland a beautiful place!
Nancy Wallace introduced the students who were the Alumni Endowed Scholarship recipients for 2008-2009. Brianna Cole, Megan Edgerton and Dorvell Stewart all thanked the Alumni Association for receiving the scholarships for this year.
John Sellars presented the Class of 1958-4 year class with blue and gold ribbons with medallions as they were the first 4 year class to graduate from Graceland.
Michael Lewis called the business meeting to order. There was no old business. Michael shared with the forum about the revisions and additions to the Alumni Board’s Constitution and By-Laws.
Michael Lewis thanked Karla Fennick for all her hard, hard work she does for the Alumni Board silent auction.
Michael Lewis adjourned the business meeting.
