It was 1974 when Graceland graduated its first Computer Science major. That makes this our 35th anniversary for graduating computing majors. We have since graduated over 300 majors under a variety of titles including Computer Science (CS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Engineering (CE), and Information Technology (IT). This year is extra special as we are in the new Resch Science Center and this year marks the beginning of a newest major, Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT). Help us celebrate all this at Homecoming between 9-11 am on Saturday, October 10, in the new Ackerley computing lab (room 130 Science). Our Ackerley Scholars, CSIT students, and CSIT faculty will be there to greet you with refreshments and various demonstrations for all ages (robotics, gaming, animation, etc). It is an open house, so everyone is invited. To those who are CS/CIS/CE/IT alumni and have not been back to campus for awhile, try to make this your homecoming and help us celebrate. Anne Rajbhardari is the ACM president and she has the students planning and working on various things for our CS/IT open house in our labs. There is even a group of students planning a project to submerge a computer in a fishtank of mineral oil and have it running as a demo. All Alumni are encouraged to stop by Saturday morning to visit with our current CSIT students. Saturday, October 10 from 9am to 11am
