Alumni Board President Michael Lewis welcomed everyone to the Homecoming Alumni Forum. Michael thanked Michael Compton and the jazz band.
Michael Lewis introduced the current Alumni Board members present who were: Sidna Adams, Katie Arnold-Clow, Howard Booth, Barb Mesle, Cherry Newcom, Scott Ourth, Larkin Powell, Jackie Pray, Becky Shalley, Joe Shelton and Tyler Williams. Michael then introduced new candidates running for the Alumni Board who were: Roger Hubbard.
Nancy Wallace spoke of the students who were the Alumni Endowed Scholarship recipients for 2007-2008. Mica Carlile, Neil Grundman and Jessica Ruckman were not present due to sporting activities they were involved in. Garrett Grundman was in attendance at the Forum. He thanked everyone for the scholarship and what it means for him to be at Graceland. Donna Muir Grundman (Garrett and Neil’s mother) spoke on her family’s behalf. She also thanked the Graceland body for the scholarships her three boys have received and what that means for their family. Donna talked about her family legacy of Graceland and the scholarship legacy.
Graceland University President, John Sellars welcomed everyone to Homecoming and introduced his wife, Bette. John talked about things going on at Graceland and he then opened the floor up for dialogue.
Scott Ourth spoke on behalf of the Special Recognition Award. He talked about the Career Internship and the call sheets that the Alumni Board is involved with. Scott presented the Special Recognition Award to Sue Olson, Database Specialist for Institutional Advancement for Graceland University.
Michael Lewis announced phase II of the Alumni Brick Campaign.
Michael Lewis called the business meeting to order. There was no old business. Lillian Wallace asked for a new Rambler group to get started.
Michael Lewis adjourned the meeting.
