Nursing Recognition Ceremony Instructions

Recognition Ceremony Date: May 16, 2008
Place: Community of Christ Stone Church (Corner of Lexington and River)

Individual shots will be available in the evening hours A photographer will be on hand taking individual portraits shots after you arrive.

A professional photographer will be on hand to take your picture(s) before the actual “pinning” ceremony, and if you wish and as you get “pinned.” Brochures will be provided if you would like to order your Pinning photos.

BSNs wear crisp, professional, white nursing dress or uniform clothing styles. Shoes should be completely white and clean. Do not wear any uniform with the Graceland nursing patch attached. If you chose to wear a nursing cap, please wear your hair in a conservative attractive style away from your face. If hair is long, please pull back off your shoulders.

MSNs wear professional, street clothing styles, similar to what would be worn during a church type service. Shoes should be comfortable yet professional.

Time Ceremony Begins: 7:00 PM
Students arrive no later than: 6:00 PM, assemble in the lower auditorium.
Please remember this ceremony is a "worship" type ceremony in a church, where conservative dress and reverence should be observed.

Please note: The original Stone Church structure was built in 1889. It has beautiful hand crafted rich wood detail, and artfully crafted stained glass windows. Although beautiful, it is relatively small by today’s standards and fills up quickly. Please tell your family to arrive a few minutes early. If needing handicap-access, it is available from the River Street entrance. We hope you and your family plan to attend the ceremony.
