FINDING A COURT CASE

Finding cases in Google: http://www.google.com

In the search box, enter the name of the court case between quotation marks, (example: “roe v. wade”) so that Google will searches for the entire phrase rather than random occurrences of the words “roe” or “wade.”

Finding cases in Lexis-Nexis

  1. From Graceland’s library page at /show.cfm?durki=146

  1. Click Periodical Articles in the blue column to the left.

  1. From the list of databases, click Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe.

Note: If you are searching from home, you will need to enter your username (your six-digit Graceland ID number) and password (your last name in lowercase letters).

  1. In the Get a Case box, select Party Name, enter the opposing parties of a case in the two search boxes, and search. In the Document List of citations, click the red highlighted words for details about the case.
