Benefits

 

All full time employees are eligible for the following benefits. Part time employees are eligible for health and dental insurance without a Graceland subsidy. Benefits begin the month after hire date. Premiums are deducted the month before coverage period.

Health Insurance

Principal Insurance Company is the carrier, PPO plan with 3 different deductible options, premiums are based on deductible chosen. Graceland pays roughly 70% of the premium. Graceland implemented a High Deductible Health Plan and Health Savings Account option on January 1, 2006. Please use the link in the right sidebar to visit their website. If enrolled, you will be able to get claims and benefits information by logging in with your Principal ID number.

Delta Dental Insurance

Delta Dental is the insurance carrier. Graceland pays 50% of the premium. Preventative services are free twice a year. All other covered services are paid at 50% by the insurance plan and 50% by the employee. A link to the Delta Dental website is provided on the right side of this page.

Vision Insurance

Avesis is the carrier. Voluntary vision insurance is available to employees. A basic eye exam is just a $10 copay. Lenses and frames are a $25 copay. Contact lenses no copay. Allowances vary. Please make sure that you are using an Avesis participating provider. A link to their website is provided on the right side of this page.

Life Insurance

Sun Life is the carrier. Graceland pays for life insurance equal to the employee's annual salary up to a maximum of $50,000. Graceland also provides $2,000 coverage on spouse and dependents. Supplemental life insurance is available for employee purchase. 

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance

Sun Life is the carrier. Graceland pays for coverage on the employee equal to their annual salary. Provides coverage 24 hours a day in the event of an accident. Optional coverage is available for purchase by the employee.

Long Term Disability

Graceland provides long term disability coverage on all full time employees. This insurance will replace 60% of wages in the event that the employee becomes disabled and unable to work for longer than 90 days.

Flexible Spending Account

Pre-tax money set aside for eligible medical expenses, day care expenses, and outside insurance premiums. Kabel Business Services is the company that administers this plan. Participants may access their accounts on the web using the link at right.

Graceland University Retirement Plan II

Employees hired after August 1, 2006, are eligible for a group 403(b) plan. Employees must complete 1,000 hours of service in the first year of employment to be eligible. Employees may contribute pre-tax or after tax money into this plan. Graceland will contribute a discretionary base contribution into eligible employees' plan after the first year. Graceland will also match employees' contributions fifty cents on the dollar up to six percent of the employee's pay after the first year of service. Employees do have to complete 5 years of service to be 100% vested in the Graceland contributions into the plan. Principal administers this plan.

Educational Benefits

Undergraduate tuition is covered by tuition remission at Graceland. Graceland also belongs to two tuition exchange programs. There are over 500 private college and universities all around the country that will also provide free tuition to our employees and their qualified dependents. Employees may look at the list of tuition exchange schools at www.cic.edu.  A free Skillpath Seminar is available for employee development once a year.
