Lydia Mejia-Johnson, DNP, RN, CHFP is Assistant Teaching Professor at Graceland University and has been a nurse for 18 years. Her experience ranges from various clinical and graduate practice teachings at the University of Missouri-Columbia, University of St. Mary, Ottawa University and Columbia College.
Dr. Mejia-Johnson holds a Master of Science and Doctorate in Nursing Practice - Organizational Leadership from the University of Kansas Medical Center. Her undergraduate nursing work was completed at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Holding certification as a Healthcare Financial Professional with HFMA, Dr. Mejia-Johnson is an experienced specialist with a demonstrated history working in the healthcare industry, skilled in clinical research, nursing education, oncology, strategic planning and financial planning. Research and publication experience are primarily focused on nursing, systems management and cost analysis in nursing education, advancing the profession in nursing leadership.
Dr. Mejia-Johnson is proactive in student-centered teaching, focusing on methods of critical thinking analysis and providing a platform for student learning, meeting the needs of a complex healthcare system.
