Jeff Draves, PhD
Professor of Chemistry
Jeffrey Draves, PhD, is Professor of Chemistry at Graceland University. His fields of expertise include physical chemistry, analytical chemistry and environmental science. Professor Draves has also developed a strong interest in forensic chemistry, the chemistry of cooking and data analytics. As a researcher, he experiments with and computationally models aqueous particulate matter and examines the chemistry which occurs at the surface of these particles. Particulate matter plays a role in all aspects of atmospheric chemistry, which makes this area so fascinating.
Helping students achieve their goals is a primary objective of Professor Draves, whether helping them overcome difficulties with understanding new materials, providing career advice, or helping them write applications for graduate or medical schools. He desires to see students succeed.
Professor Draves received a B.A. from Monmouth College and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois.
While his favorite sport is soccer, Professor Draves enjoys nearly all sports, along with a fondness for musical theater performances and choir concerts. He attends such events in his free time.
