Convincing himself of his wife's infidelity, Leontes, King of Sicilia, is driven into a jealous rage. Unmoved by the entreaties of his queen, Hermione, and a proclamation from the Oracle of Apollo, the king tears his family apart. The disastrous consequences of his actions reverberate across generations and national borders. Only through their child Perdita, left for dead in the wilds of Bohemia as an infant, can the family at last be reunited and redeemed.
