Athletic Training News:

May 2009: The Iowa Athletic Trainers' Society announced student scholarship winner.  On the list, two Graceland students, Dylan Hogan and Nicole Loucks.  Dylan will use his scholarship as he pursues a master's degree this fall. Nicole will use her scholarship as she returns to Graceland for her senior year of studies.

March 2009: Nicole Loucks was selected as one of two students from the Mid-America Athletic Trainers' Association (IA, MO, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK) to attend the Collegiate Sports Medicine Foundation's 2009 Athletic Training Student Leadership Workshop in Fort Lauderdale, FL in May.

Physical Education and Health News:

Spring 2009: Several students are completing student teaching this semester - Tara Breen, Henry Duke, Richard Fraijo, Trent Hill, Tanya Oysterick, and Mike Stuart.

Wellness Program Management News:

Fall 2009: This fall students will have the opportunity to take NEW courses in the Wellness Program Management Major. The major was recently revised to reflect the most current concepts and skills related to physical training, including emphases on group exercise and functional fitness.

Spring 2009: Eliott "Fish" Clemens has been offering assistance in the Lamoni campus wellness center.  He's helping employees and gaining valuable experience, as a part of his internship, at the same time.  Internships and other capstone experiences are designed to bridge classroom learning and skills and application in actual settings.
