Bio: McDole has served Graceland in a variety of roles over a 27 year tenure on the "Hill". Stew, as he is addressed by students and colleagues alike, is a 1965 Graceland graduate (B.A. Social Studies); he later completed both a masters and a doctorate in leisure studies at Indiana University-Bloomington (M.S 1967 and Re.D. 1977).
Stew coordinates the Recreation and Leisure Studies Major, he served as Chair: Division of Health and Education for seven years and Athletics Director for three. He has also coached the Yellowjacket Women's Volleyball team for the entire 27 of his Graceland years with great success.
Prior to his Lamoni arrival Stew taught eleven years as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Recreation and Park Administration at Western Illinois University where he chaired their graduate studies program. The immediate four years were spent as Director of Youth and Leisure Services Ministries for the Community of Christ in Independence, MO.
Stew and his wife Patty are parents to three children: Chad, Mica and Corey. The McDoles are also the owners and operators of "Country Plus," a gift and Hallmark store in Lamoni.
