Campus Minister - Dave Heinze
Dave Heinze, an ordained minister in the Community of Christ, is currently assigned as Campus Minister for Graceland University. He holds the priesthood office of High Priest. Dave's history includes roots in New Mexico, college in New Mexico and Texas with a bachelors degree in Geology from the University of New Mexico. He worked for 12 years at a national research laboratory in Albuquerque, NM in the field of geology and energy research. In 1983 he changed careers in order to be more involved in raising a new son and to follow his passion in music. He started a business as a luthier (builder of stringed instruments) and played music professionally as a solo act and with a variety band throughout NM. Dave found involvement in church life from an early age and remained active in many areas of church life. In 1991 Dave made another career change to follow this passion- he accepted a position as Executive Minister for the Santa Barbara, CA congregation. After serving there as Outreach Pastor for two years, he worked for three years in several roles as Executive Minister for the Greater Los Angeles Stake. There he worked with urban and inner city youth, cell group ministry, congregational consulting, and several administrative roles. He accepted World Church appointment on August 1, 1996 and served as congregational consultant and mission center president in the Florida Mission Center. Dave holds a Masters of Arts in Religion through the Community of Christ seminary.
Dave is a minister who remains a musician at heart and is dedicated to helping the gospel message find expression in the modern world. He is married to Dustee (Associate Campus Minister). Their son Jordan is a career firefighter in Florida.
