Weekly Events
Each week, there are a number of opportunities to gather with other members of the Graceland community -- students, faculty, and staff --in fellowship or in worship. There are also times and events scheduled for private devotion. The 2008-09 Campus Ministries theme is "One Spirit, Many Voices" reflecting our amazing diversity. We create and nurture genuine connections through the Spirit while providing opportunities to express our many voices in a variety of ways by offering the authenticity of our own faith journeys. We want students to 'get real' with family, friends, God, and themselves as they grow in their spiritual journey.
Wednesday Night Church
Real. People. Sharing.
Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in Cheville Chapel
One of the highlights of the religious life program here at Graceland happens each Wednesday night when the Graceland community comes together to share in worship and fellowship. These services are planned by brother/sister House Chaplains, and involve students from the participating houses.
House Devotions
Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. in a lounge near you!
Feel free to join your house chaplain and others from your house in a time of devotions each Thursday evening!
Prayer at the Bell (Fire)
Fridays at 11:52 am by the fire inside the MSC.
In recognition of the ongoing presence of tragedy and oppression in our world, we meet each week for a very brief time of prayer at the fire. This time is intended not only to add our voices to the prayers of many around the world, but also to visually signify our support of those persons around the world whose lives are touched by tragedy every day.
Sunday Morning Church
Donuts and Juice - 10:30 am Cheville Chapel
It's easy to take each other for granted when we live together and go to classes together. We have found that informal fellowship (friends and free food) helps us to build the bonds of community that are so important to our personal growth and development. And, did we say that it's free?
Church - 11:00 am Cheville Chapel
Each Sunday morning, the Graceland congregation gathers for worship. The campus congregation is a Community of Christ congregation, but is open and welcoming of all persons regardless of faith tradition or lifestyle for we believe that we all stand in need of God's grace. Our services utilize the vast gifts and resources of students, faculty, staff and others to share the GOOD NEWS which we believe God has called us to share.
Afterglow
a unique spiritual experience
Sundays at 7:00 pm in Cheville Chapel
Each Sunday evening, the Chapel is rocking with a praise band and contemporary Christian music. This service is upbeat, relevant, and informal. Afterglow - "a comfortable feeling after a pleasant experience."
