Sponsored Programs and Ministries

Cell Groups
College is fun, challenging, and sometimes chaotic. Whether for prayer, encouragement, Bible Study, or fellowship, cell groups offer students a caring environment for interaction with peers who share common interests and concerns.

Chaplaincy Program
Each House has a chaplain to provide ministry throughout the year. Chaplains are active members of the house council and are available for peer counseling, spiritual support, and hall devotions. Chaplains also provide a valuable ministry for the campus as a whole through Wednesday evening worship and many special activities.

Community of Christ Leadership Program
The Community of Christ Leadership Program (CCLP) is a cooperative effort between Graceland University and the Community of Christ that provides training and experience for students who desire to serve the Church as leaders now and in the future. Participants engage in a summer internship; engage in weekly meetings and activities with their particular ministry area group; attend leadership seminars; complete a Church Leadership minor; and take leadership roles in either the campus religious life program or in local congregations. Financial assistance is available to those who satisfactorily fulfill the program requirements. For more details, go to CCLP
Ecumenical Ministries
We recognize that a rich variety of Christian denominations are represented in the Graceland Community. And, though we welcome all persons into our worshipping community, we work hard to maintain current information (church contacts, service times, etc.) for each of the Christian denominations designated as "denomination of preference" by members of the student body.

Outreach/Evangelism Ministries
Whether on campus or in the surrounding community, our Outreach/Evangelism team is always working on connecting with people in new and exciting ways. The work of Outreach/Evangelism includes but is not limited to community service projects, and monthly non-church events designed to provide a comfortable and non-threatening atmosphere for relationship building between members of the Graceland community.

Pastoral Care and Counseling
Throughout the year, persons feeling the need to talk to someone about problems or issues they are facing in their spiritual life. Both campus ministers are available to me these needs. The campus ministers are also closely connected to certified personal counselors as well as outside counseling agencies for the purpose of making necessary and appropriate referrals.

Peace and Justice Ministries
Campus Ministries is committed to doing the work of Christ through an emphasis on peace and justice. Numerous activities are planned throughout the year that give Graceland students, faculty and staff the chance to be a community who puts their faith into action. [link]

Prayer Ministries
Prayer ministries seek to connect members of the Graceland community to each other and to God through prayer. Prayer groups meet throughout the year with a focus on specific issues affecting students, faculty, and staff. Prayer groups are open to any and all who wish to participate.

Traveling Ministry
Throughout the year, there are several opportunities for groups of students to provide worship experiences for off-campus congregations. Students plan and carry out the worship services in accordance with the needs of the specific congregations. Prayer, testimony, drama, music, and the spoken word are all offered by traveling ministry teams.

Worship Ministries
Worship is a significant part of what we do as a ministry on campus. Our weekly worship on campus is planned by a team of students, faculty, and staff who seek to meet the worshiping needs of our community through a variety of worship styles. There are also worship opportunities planned throughout the year in response to special needs and/or special emphases.
