2000 Richard H. Keilig Jr. served in the Army from 1972-2005. His last 29 years were served in the Medical Service Corps as a clinical microbiologist. He served on active duty in Germany from 1976-79, as a medical platoon leader in an armor battalion, and in 1996-97 at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio , TX, where he became Chief of Microbiology. Upon completion of his tour he came to Iowa as part of the "Troops to Teachers" program from the Department of Defense. He teaches high school biology grades 9-12 and lives in Moravia, IA. (keilig@iowatelecom.net) |
