1984 Richard "Kent" Parker served in the Marine Corps from 1976-79. Stationed in Hawaii and California ("tough tour, huh?" he says) he visited Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Kwajalein and Okinawa. "I was, and am, very proud of my time 'in' and still feel the old thrill when a military band strikes a call 'to the colors.'" He lives in Dallas Center, IA.
